## Custom Countertops for Spaces That Are Not Standard

 on a straight kitchen run are routine. Plenty of Toronto projects are not. A curved basement bar in Vaughan, a laundry room folding counter in Mississauga, a butcher block island, a clinic counter with an integrated sink: each needs a shape, a material or a cutout that falls outside a normal kitchen job.

Our custom countertop work starts with a CAD drawing you approve before anything is cut. Then our waterjet makes the curves, radius corners and cutouts a bridge saw cannot, and our CNC profiles the edges.

## Types of Custom Countertops

-   **Curved bars and islands.** Radius ends, serpentine fronts and round tables.
-   **Laundry and mudroom tops.** Folding counters, bench tops and built-in desks, often cut from quartz remnants.
-   **Butcher block.** Islands, coffee stations and desks in warm hardwood. See the care notes below.
-   **Solid-surface.** Joint-free, integrated-sink counters for clinics, laundry rooms and accessible kitchens.
-   **Integrated quartz sinks.** Sinks fabricated from the same quartz as the counter.
-   **Specialty cutouts.** Recessed drainboards, pop-up outlets, pot-filler clearances and appliance garages.

## How We Price Custom Countertops

Custom work is quoted from the approved CAD drawing. Quartz material follows our standard tiers, $65-$120/sqft for standard quartz and $110-$180/sqft for Caesarstone or Cambria, with waterjet time for curves and cutouts added. Fab-only on your slab is $42-$68/sqft. You see the full price before deposit.

## From Sketch to Install

1.  **Measure and sketch.** We measure the space and agree on shape, edges and cutouts.
2.  **CAD drawing.** Every curve and radius is dimensioned. You approve it.
3.  **Template.** For fitted spaces, Proliner templating captures the real walls. See

## Butcher Block Care

Oil butcher block monthly for the first few months, then whenever it looks dry. Wipe water promptly and avoid leaving wet cloths on it. Light scratches sand out. We usually pair butcher block islands with a quartz perimeter around the sink, so the wood stays away from standing water.

## Vaughan Kleinburg Custom

A Kleinburg basement bar had a water-damaged plywood top with peeling paint. The owner wanted a curved quartz bar with radiused ends to match a custom cabinet setup. We produced a CAD drawing from the Proliner template and sent it for sign-off before any cutting. The waterjet cut both radius ends to the exact radius specified, and the CNC profiler polished the eased edge continuously around the curve. Installed with hidden steel brackets under the overhang.
